Reviews
This was a really cool spot to go to, and is worth at least a couple hours. First, the fee is ¥1250, and you have to pay cash, and there’s no ATM, so be warned. But the cave itself is pretty cool if not so large, and it leads out to two different kinds of beaches. Both looked great for snorkeling, but I wasn’t prepared and didn’t go for that. The left beach gives a great view of the island, and the right beach is mostly popular with Japanese as a “power spot,” or a location with a lot of magical power or mana, but if you keep walking you’ll find beautiful beach after beautiful beach.
Easy walk through the caves which also look to be useful for お酒 storage. The ¥1250 entrance fee gets you access to a secluded sea spot for snorkeling on the right and a lovely beach in a calm shallow bay on the left.
Cave and hidden secret beach experience. Unexpectedly interesting. Only japanese yellow signs by the main road but quite easy to find. Entry fee is a bit steep (1250 jpy for adults), but worth it - gives you access to a large underground stalagtite cave system that leads to the beach on the other end of the mountain! There you will find amazing little spots to enjoy the beach and explore the cost that is not accessible from anywhere else.
Nice power spot and astonishing beach with spectacular views
This limestone cave was really lovely. I think the beach parts were incredible and really set it apart. You can't chill on the beach though as there's LOADS of baby hermit crabs which is PERFECT if you're a photographer, not so much if you don't like smallocing things! 😂🙈 …
This place as a cave is worthless really, there is nothing fascinating about the cave with light poles inside and some clay pots and liquor bottles, very weird, and on top of that have to pay a ridiculous entry fee. The only real attraction there is the beaches that you can access after passing the cave, visit the place with all your gear ready to swim on the beautiful beach, and adventure between the rocks to discover more small beaches nearby.
Just not worth all that time & effort by bus.. From the bus stop (Ibaruma post office) it's a 30 min walk (further than the GMaps pin). & there are easier places for a beautiful, relaxing swim. The cave was nice, but the one near city center is bigger & easier to access.
One of a few attractions worth seeing in Ishigaki itself - long cave ending with two swimming beaches.
